The service

BriefedIn ("we," "us") searches publicly available sources and generates a source-cited research brief about a named person, on request, for the account holder who requested it. By creating an account or generating a brief, you agree to these terms.

Acceptable use

BriefedIn is built for meeting and outreach preparation. You agree not to use it:

• To make or inform decisions about employment, credit, housing, insurance, or any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act or similar law. BriefedIn is not a consumer reporting agency and its output is not a consumer report.
• To harass, stalk, intimidate, or locate someone who does not want to be found.
• To research a minor, or anyone who has submitted a verified opt-out request.
• To circumvent the rate limits, credit system, or scope of the service (automated scraping of BriefedIn itself, reselling raw output as a data feed, etc.).

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts we reasonably believe are violating this section, with or without notice.

Accuracy — read before you rely on a brief

A brief summarizes what public sources say; it does not verify identity beyond best-effort disambiguation, and public sources are sometimes wrong, outdated, or about a different person entirely. Every claim carries a citation specifically so you can check it. Treat a brief as a starting point for a conversation, not a verified fact sheet, and do not take action based solely on an unconfirmed or low-confidence claim (flagged inline as such).

Billing

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through Stripe. Credits reset at the start of each billing cycle and don't roll over. You can cancel anytime from account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and we don't provide partial refunds for unused credits. Prices may change with notice by email or on this page before your next renewal.

Your account

You're responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be at least 18 to create an account. Reports you generate are visible only to you unless you explicitly create a share link.

No warranty, limited liability

BriefedIn is provided "as is." We don't warrant that any brief is complete, accurate, or fit for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from your use of BriefedIn is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be announced on this page; continued use after a change means you accept the update.
